I use the 002 and I checked it for the values listed in the factory book using an adjustable timing light and the curve checked out just right. Many will say that the 008 is better. The fact is that the advance curve is also dependant on compression (I have 9.5/1 pistons) and fuel quality. The high octane fuel here in Japan is just barely good enough to run at the settings for N. American gas in the 70's. I have to back off the timing a bit ( to 25deg at 2500rpm) to run this gas. So for started I'd use the one that has the least play at the shaft as that one will make the most consistant spark in terms of timing. Then look over the curve at vaious RPM and map it out with an adjustable timing light. If the shoe fits......
