i've received heavy reccomendations for the sumitomo htr 200's from you all but unfortunately i can't find them in a 185/70, which is what the pirellis that are on right now are. i'm hesitant to try 185/60's because of a loss of ground clearance of about a centimeter, and one of the po's lowered her a bit already making driving on the bumpy rural roads of maine all the more frightening. (i like my exhaust where it is.) i thought about 195/60's which still drop the clearance, but only by about 6 or so mm (correct me if my math is wrong.) BUT i don't know what kind of lateral clearance i will have inside the well and with the fenders, and i don't have the luxury of taking a peek under there at the moment. any input will be showered with profuse appreciation . . .

I've got 195/60/13 HTR200s on my 74, with H&R springs, and e21 bbs wheels (with bad et20 offset sticking them out further) and there are no clearance issues. It looks kind of close, but I thoroughly abuse my car on the track and on pothole-filled roads, and have no rubbing whatsoever.

For pics and video see here:

In the later pics and video, I have the springs on the car, but on the earlier pics/video, the stock springs are on the car.

you make any adjustments to the fenders?
nope, haven't touched them. See the 'Aloha!' thread in off-topic for a pic from monday.

You might want to consider the Yokohama Avid T4 tires, which are excellent and readily available in 185/70 X 13. I just bought a set from Tire Rack (www.tirerack.com) for $42.00 each.

no issues -- i did have a problem with rubbing when i had someone in the backseat, the fender lip was just barely too much so i rolled them and now i have no issues.
