Early cars (70?) and before dont have the perpendicular (to the length of the car) ridges on the inner front fenders infront of the strut mounts. Also they don't have the cutout that is covered by the fender where it bolts up. These were added to aid crumple zones.

the highest amp fuse on an early car (prior April 71') is 16amp. As the headlights are not fused. Some new cars have 60amp fuses. These cars are simple - thats why I love em'. Beaner7102

The first side (near door handle) and rear panel (between tail lights) mouldings look identical to, and are interchangeable with, the common newer style parts. They are, however, made with more precision and better material. They also require rare and unique fasteners.

off of 530's and such (those that came without electrics)

are a screw- on upgrade, as the handles are beefier and the knobs last longer...

also, they didn't see much use...
