but you should have had the bores honed before you painted the block. looks good though and will look even better once it's in the engine bay and you fire it up! nothing like the smell and sound of a brand new engine coming to life....

The paint is from POR-15. It is beautiful stuff and goes on really easy.

My BMW tech said that the bores are fine and that no machining would be needed on the block at all.

Thanks for putting my pics out. Yes, POR-15 comes in many colors. This is the website for their engine painting kit:

it says all of the colors at the bottom. $45 for all the primer, etching solution, paint, etc. Pretty good deal, and it comes out very nice. I just applied mine with the brushes they provided.

Are you going to use wooden pistons? It looks like you've got plenty of material there to make them out of.
