Okay, well after 3 diffs now blown in the last month, I need to upgrade to something stronger. The 02 diff is just not enough to hold my 270+hp and more than that in torque. Who runs anything but a 2002 diff in their cars? I am open to any suggestions at this point, the car is down once again.

Maybe somebody here can advising on adapting an e36 M# unit? Metric Mechanic advertises LSDs for hi-perf cars and I'm sure Korman can hook up too, for lot$ of ca$h. You'll probably have to go with racing grade equipment. Check the adds in the back of Grassroots or Classic Motorsports.

I have looked into all the upgrading and strengthening and it just isnt worth the thousands of dollars to put it in a tiny 02 diff. I can't see that little thing holding the power I want to put down no matter how much I strengthen it. It's time for an E30 diff or E36 diff, I need bigger, I'm doing my measurements now unless someone else has a solution.

What breaks in it??

Ive heard many times that a 02 lsd can get 300hp.

one wheel spin usualy kill a diff very shortly, if its open.

There was someone with a complete E30 drivetrain. I dont know how far this one is stronger. You might do a search, there was plenty of pictures of it.

Maybe its time for you to think far bigger/stronger since a supposedely 300hp diff dont survive your application.

-aluminum (from lincoln mark VIII

-lsd

-all kind of ratios available

-output flanges easely adaptable to fit any kind of axles

This one is the prime diff choice on XR4TI with too much power, but they also update the two axles with beefier ones.

Look at item number 8033775918 on ebay. could be easely adapted to an 02 i think, no kidding !! this one all aluminum.

There always some poping on ebay. I am looking at one for my XR ;)
