1) Get a manual. Haynes and/or factory and read before you do anything to the brakes/clutch system.

2) Go with a rebuilt unit for both, unless the car has been sitting for years. Most likely, you won't need both a master and a slave.

I started on things when I was 12 in the pre internet days. I did as much reading as possible before I attempted anything on the car.

Keep it up, the folks here are of great help. They have never left me stranded on a problem.

There are probably folks near Wayne if you really get in a pinch.

Keep it up Spence!

My first project was putting a new motor in a 1967 Plymouth Fury III the night before prom so I could go racing on prom night.

Can't get into much trouble with a 318 in a tank of a car. It did have white rims and red line tires!

The clutch master in attached to the pedal box and the slave is the unit at the end of the hose from the master, the slave is attached to the transmission.

I too vote, that if you do need them, buy rebuilt ones.

I will attach pictures later tonight if I get to the shed.

A, You people are dealing with a child.

B, The child should have guidance, from home.

c, Get the books.

if i went on the guidance i got from home the biggest job id attempt would be changing oil. my father instilled a love of cars in me at a very young age but he lacked hard core mechanical skill. my dad is amazed at some of the stuff ive learned to do from guys like you. why not encourage this kid and share the knowledge. we dont know his home situation. he may not even have a father.
