Okay I was watching the "overhauling" marathon on TLC yesterday and saw lots of cool things I could do. My question is will paint for the body work on engine parts?...primarily the valve cover and oil pan. Will the constant temperature extremes be to much for it?

But some high temp enamals can be. Like other's said normal automotive paint can work. But do bear in mind that oil covers and pans are much more likely to see fluids and greases then the outside of your car hopefully. So it may make more sense to use a tougher paint if your car is a driver.

If more power is better then way too much is just enough.

When will this guy (K-Swiss) shut up.

What temp does your engine go to 80/90 centigrade, for the stupid people there is a computer conversion, point being that aint hot.

Most good paints will cover a block and valve cover.

My concerns were the paint holding up to grease and the other substances in a engine compartment environment. Hmm I'm just not sure how well good exterior automotive paint would hold up to the like.

Its no longer about rotors which were a brake part last time I checked.

I personally would rather use something that I associate with a tougher finish. AKA por-15 or some sort of chassis paint for long lasting durability or crinkle paint. My opinion and everyone has one!
