muffler shop pipe bending? $$$

how much does a muffler shop typically charge to bend pipes for a muffler set on an 02, or any car for that matter?

$75 here in Louisiana.

on location, tubing size, interest of the bender, modivation etc.

the bend over axel for some is taxing for an old hotrodder a piece of cake , 2 1/4 too big to bend or 2 1/2 no problem

shop around/ go to the local speed shop and ask.

$65 for muffler. all the pipes are attached, all you need is few clamps

never us a center muff or stock pipes

I bet Most folks run a center resonator & muffler combo - OEM type or "hi- performance". Although I know many folks run without center resonator of any kind, I think that set up is generally more appropriate for more modified cars.

I wonder what performance gain there is in eliminating the resonator?

I tried that once until I caught a resonance @ 6k (sounded like a bell) and the exhaust system shattered (literally) at 95 miles an hour. A resonator should just be a tube with a spiral inside, to align your exhaust pulses. it should in reality increase your exhaust gas exit speed. And of course keep your exhaust from 'sploding.

this is what i am going to do. i am goin got buy these mufflers and get pipes bent so that i save like 400 bucks on an exhaust system.
