You can get a factory original parts from the original turbos, custom setups etc, I have one from a BAE setup for a 320i I will be using. REmember with turbos you HAVE to drop the compression on BOOM.

Turbocharging is not for the faint of heart, its certainly not as simple as bolting on some parts and driving off.

to answer your question, if you are going to turbo your car, go with something modern, the BAE or factory stuff is useable.... but i wouldn't recommend it. Cartech sells turbo manifolds for M10's, its a cast piece, log style. I have one that i plan to use on my 68 with a new T3. thats basically the cheap way. using the cast manifold with a 318i EFI intake manifold would be as easy as it gets.

the compression ratio you want to run all depends on what you really want to do with the car. I run a 9:1 compression turbo motor in my E28 with no problems, and it has much much better low end power than the 7.5:1 compression turbo engine i had in my e24.

Decide what you really want with the car (hp/streetability wise) and post back here or at e30tech.com. Lots of turbo knowledge over there.
