is the body around the american rear bumper different that on this? and could i just uninstall my american bumper and install this with a little fabrication?

. . . so long as you dont get rear ended

you have to cut the nose to accomodate for the front bumper brackets that sit on either side of the frame rails . . . (pictured here)

in the trunk you have to cut holes to access the holes that the rear bumper brackets mount through. . . then you're done (ooh, you have to drill the holes for the bumper-quarter panel mount too) have an assortment of vinyl/rubber type washers/spacers, its not too much work and it transforms the car. lightens the car significantly too

you are left with a lot of extra holes though from the old bumpers, i plugged them little plastic plugs painted the color of my car. . .

the longer bumpers are from 1973 year. the short ones work just the same, but i dont think they look right. if you use 1972 style brackets the bumpers mout more closely to the body. call La Jolla indie for the brackets. . .

if you have a budget talk to Dave @ Aardvark racing, he's straightening/rechroming bumper sets .. . he has a website too
