E brake troubles...

What is required for an e-brake cable replacement? Just the cables? I have the writeup on how to do it, I am just afraid I'll get it apart, then have to order some little rubber grommet or something.

If the cables you're going to replace have never been replaced on the car before, you might want to spray some Liquid Wrench through the cable ducts and leave over night. These suckers can be very stubborn to get out.

Is this an entire new assembly? If I were to order this is it just a metter of ripping out the old, and putting this in? I also plan on doing my drum brakes, I have the new pads, but is there any other parts needed?

You shouldn't need any other parts to do the job.

On the brakes question, I'm not familiarized with 1602; I'm sure someone with more knowledge can chime in here.

1602 really is just a 2002, smaller engine (at least displacement wise.) The former owner updated it with 2002 drive shaft, short differential, dual webbers, korman headers, ansa exh....... it goes on and on.
