1600 pistons worth anything?

I'm visiting from mye28.com.

A friend found 5 brand new 20 year old ARIAS racing pistons, pins, and rings for a 1600 in the trunk of a 525 going to the crusher. I have no idea why there are 5. Are these worth anything? Where is the best place to sell them, ebay. Thanks for your advice.

Bore 3.347, stroke 2.795, comp 11.5, weight 460.

Ebay is probably the way to go. I think a cool rebuild 1600tii engine would be a good runner. Someone probably wants them, if they are good quality. Not sure how many people build race ready 1600 bmw engines, but the lower displacement might qualify you for a seperate class than the 2002 and be more competitve.
