since im working away all the kinks in my car today, exhaust rattle, timing, amp, i thought id tackle another task.

My 32/36 carb about 1.25 years old, and jetted to cd's specs is leaking gas out of the top (not throught the air cleaner, but where the top part of the carb body screws to the bottom). My car smeels like gas and you can see it where it leaks then gathers on the intake manifold. what do i have to adjust?

TIA

I'd also look into the float and give the float a good look, especially if it's brass. I had a brass float from a 32/36 split in half so look it over carefully while you're there, for any weaknesses where it's soldered together and carry a spare 32/36 kit.

The float pushes up a little needle valve. Make sure it goes up and down when you jiggle the float. Spray with carb cleaner or soak it overnight and it should free up that needle valve, if that's the issue. You might want to lean it out some too. I've noticed when my car runs rich, it runs a lot rougher, and the engine really vibrates which could be your exhaust rattle. My car runs rough, grinds into second and rattles more when the idle mixture screw is too far in. When it is just right, it shifts smooth and revs better through the RPM range in first. Too lean and the rear end jumps when I'm in gear and the rpms are too low...in between the two is where you want to be. Good luck
