There's a hole near the mounting screw in the back where you can press out the center of the knob to expose the Philly screw. Then screw it back on and press the little center back over the screw.

and pop off the concave disk in the middle of the knob. I think the hole is actually closer to the outside of the knob than to the screw, but I may be wrong.

I had to pry off the cap to expose the screw on my 75. I used a real small screwdriver like the ones for fixing glasses.

Use an allen wrence as suggested. A small dental tool mirror will help locate the hole. It takes a lot of pressure to pop it off. gl....steve

There is a hole back there. Use a small mirror if you have one and hold it behind the knob...you'll see it.

Wow..just noticed your 13...that's pretty cool. Reminds me of myself...I was 12 when I bought my first 02...that was 15 years ago now but when you start at a young age these cars tend to stick with you forever....good luck with the car!

Hey Spencer. I gotta say, when I was 13 I didn't know about the 2002, when I was 15 i saw one and said "i'm gonna have a car just like that". When i was 17 i bought the car I saw. a 75 2002.

Take an allen key (a really small one) and feel around behind the knob, there is a hole, its just a royal bastard to reach.

You have pix of your 02?

Use two Allen wrenches. One for leverage and one to poke in the hole. That worked for me.

I had to use plyers on an allen key to force the cap off. It takes some force just stick with it and resist the urge to dig the center cap off with a sharp tool.

Once you ding the cap you will notice it each time you clean the car.

of the face of the knob (outside the center piece you're trying to remove) you'll see a circle/dot that let's you know where the hole is in the back of the knob. You can use a mirror tool to look behind it to find it, too.

I used a length of wire coat hanger bent in a "U" with one arm long enough to get some weight behind it!
