tii dash question. This one is a good 1 for the tii buffs...

Ok, got this auction on eBay and need to respond to some question. I got the dash from vin 2780913. From what I have observed in the car, all things lead to it to be a tii. The badge was not there, but still showed a little shadow on the paint that it was infact a tii. Anyhow, what was that little sign on the dash supposed to indicate, no smoking or fasten seat belt. I thought it was fasten seat belt. But apparently, the dash I have is unique and seems to have NO SMOKING on it. Could this be a factory option or something else ?

and 75 & 76 have Reactor Service / Fasten Seat Belts / EGR Service.

It was originally "Fasten Seat Belts" if it has a single bulb socket; or that plus two service interval indicators if three sockets. Anyway, that doesn't ID the dash as tii or not. A real, original tii dash will have a large clock hole to the right of the instrument cluster; a genuine replacement may not have had the cutout removed from the hole. 278xxxx is the VIN of a 1974 tii. That VIN should appear 1) stamped on the body above the right front fender; 2) on the VIN plate riveted nearby; 3) stamped on the engine block above the big starter hole; 4) on a plate riveted to the steering column top cover; and 5) punched into the left door edge manufacturing date sticker.

There are other unique tii differences, but I think you're asking about the dash.
