tii cuts out in hard left hand turns

I can't find it, but I think I've read about this before -

can anyone point me to previous posts about this, or offer a solution?

When cornering hard into a left hand turn and trying to accelerate at the same time, the gas seems to be away from the fuel pickup in the gas tank? This causes the car to run poorly, and not accelerate like it usually does. I'll try it with a full tank and see if that changes anything, but I'm looking for a solution if there is one to this.

My 74 did the same thing, only cutting out on hard left turns it turned out to be dirty filters. I can't explain the left hand bit, but since I changed the filter and cleaned the pick up screen its been running real good.

Don't worry about the world ending today,

Hell it's already tomorrow in Australia.

thanks, I guess I should have checked some of the routine stuff first, I just though it was related to the left turn somehow

I haven't had the pickup tube out yet, and the fuel filter is a previous owner's cheap fix - looks like it may be out of a 5 series and is much smaller

don't forget the in-line screens at the main pump and before the KF. CD should have a picture (Haynes and Chilton will also).

Could also be an electricial connection that opens due to shifting. when my pump went out the car would barely run and it was a sporadic issue. I went through new filters, hoses, etc.

good luck.

A loose sparkplug connector can cause missing on left-handed turns when the g-forces cause the connector to move away from the plug. I know, as it's happened to me. I found one of the connectors had a broken clip inside the bakelite causing the loose connection.

You might also check to see if the screen on the bottom of the fuel sender unit has fallen off and is moving around in the bottom of the gas tank.

an intermittent short or open circuit in the primary wiring. Do a careful inspection of all the ignition wiring. To check for worn out spark plug wires, watch for sparks to the engine or body in the dark while you jiggle the wires.
