Well mission successful, just completed a complete de-smog of my Cali 76 and all the stuff filled a sizable box. Car can definitely breath better. Although still equipped with the 32/32 DIDTA Solex I replaced the Thermal reactor with a stahl header (all I had to replace it with), resonator and stock muffler. Sounds ludicrous but the car willingly got up to 100mph (although I suspect the speedomoder is a little optimistic). Funny thing is all the local Texans probably thought I was some A-hole from Cali basting by, as I still have the Cali plates on. Too much fun.

I'm excited and now I'm ready for a road trip!

Yes I removed the air pump, diverter valve, check valve, thermal reactor, egr valve, egr filter, control valve, the electro magnetic valves, dashpot, and the emissions wiring loom. Then capped any unneeded ports with rubber caps and ran a vacuum line from the dizzy advance to underneath the carb on the intake manifold. Then ran a wire from the + side of the coil to the carburetor.

Ah Durango Co. I lived there for three months several years ago, very interesting part of the country, intense roads, beautiful scenery.

You're right, there are some great driver's roads around here. About eighteen years ago I had a six month job in Montrose, so twice a week I got to hotshoe over Red Mountain Pass. I would leave Durango on Monday morning around 5am, and come back late Thursday evening. It was a lot more fun in the winter when it was just me, the CDOT snow plow, and the Pepsi and City Market trucks driving over the passes. It got a lot less fun in the summer with all the traffic and RV's. Sure saw a lot of nice sunrises and sunsets that year! :)
