You need to increase the gold content.

You need to provide a bit more info. Not sure what the pics are trying to show, but it is not very imformative. There are plenty of posts realted to adjusting the idle on a tii in the archives.

like what more info i haveno idea what to do . allthough the tube coming from my valve cover that sucks in air from my stock filter housing was recently just made a tube that goes nowhere and that is what started the high idol, if i cover the tube the idol goes back to 1000 but with it uncovered i feel more power so i dont really wont to cover it. i am just going to buy one of those little filters for it.

Hook the tube back up properly, you are sucking dirt into your engine. BMW doesn't just randomly stick hoses where they aren't needed.

im just trying to adjust IT. the idol is when you dont give it any gas. it is supposed to be at 1000 rpms and mine is at 1500 and i cant bring it down to 1000, that bolt in the picture is what adjusts it but when i turn mine it doesnt do anything.

I think he has a '74tii. There is a decel valve or some smog stuff on the air cleaner housing. The tube on my valve cover is capped, valve on the air cleaner is gone.

thats what mine was like because i got a cone filter but some 02 guy told me not to cap it for some reason, after that i took it off and i felt some more power so now im just gonna get a little filter for it and im trying to get my idol down to 1000 but its not working

I don't know if you're getting more power or just thinking you are. On the '74 there is an air tube on either side of that valve. I don't think the tube on the valve cover is supposed to suck air in.

Idle is what he meant. It wasn't that hard to understand just because he can't spell.

The proper adjustments of linkage and throttle position will rectify the situation easily.

Set the linkage and throttle position correctly, and adjust the bolt in the pic to the right spot and you're good to go.

Its not too hard, just read the archives and ask more questions you'll get it eventually.

Don't let people play with your linkages. All of them have specific lengths. If they're off, it'll throw everything off. That is unless your pump is out of spec. and you need to change the lengths to get things right.

I have the '74 engine and there are no valves of any sort on that pipe (unless its in the air cleaner where I can't see it). The ~5/8" diameter hose goes from the valve cover to the air cleaner to burn any oil fumes etc and the slight vacuum keeps the engine from trying to leak oil. What you may not see is the ~1/4" diameter tube that connects the large pipe to the throttle body ahead of the throttle plate. This is the cause of your high idle, air is going into the engine through this small tube.
