Well, only just bought it from a retired bloke on the Gold Coast.

Not arriving here until 30/1 !!

It has a 5 speed box, been repainted and reconditioned mechanically about 2.5 years ago by its previous BMW Club owner.

Cheers Les.

I like that Jade colour - pretty rare in Oz.

Looked at a 2002 locally in Adelaide and several interstate on the net before going with this red one.

Some minor modifications eg gearbox + exhaust, unsure if carby is Solex or Weber until it arrives.

Hey mate, good to see another aussie on the board! I think that makes 5 now (beaner, TMK, Timbo, me and now you)...there are also a few lurkers out there!

Your car looks brilliant! I'm sure your going to enjoy it! If your ever down this way, chuck a post up :-)

Also, check out eurocca.net as there is a guy called Zander (APMMotorsport) who is over in Adelaide and has access to 02 bits and pieces...especially new 02 parts from Germany.

Cheers mate,

Tom

Hi Tom!

Thanks for the tip regarding the Adelaide guy.

We're not overly mechanically-minded over here and will be needing a few tips from time to time!

I'm hoping that when the car arrives, some of the paperwork with it will give more detail about the work previously done to it ie gearbox, carbie, exhaust etc

Good to see Aussie 2002 fans are everywhere!

Welcome Nick,

Tommozza mentioned me (Beaner7102) just thought I's say g'day my self.

If you are thinking about a Pertronix for you car, try Derek at The Parade Auto Spares in Norwood. I got mine there (cheapest in Oz) I havent fitted it yet, but everyone here recomends them (or the Crane) as a points replacement. Beaner7102

1971 - 2002 RHD VIN 1653940. Agave (stock with Pertronix & 32/36 Weber) - "Cactus"

1972 - 1602 RHD VIN 1554408. Fjord (with 2L motor, 5spd & LSD - Weber 40/40 to come) - "Bluey"

Thanks Beaner!

I gotta say there's a lot of enthusiastic BMW dudes in Oz!

I'm not sure of the setup on my car until it arrives and I check it out.

Cheers

Nick
