Anyone have experience seam welding an 02 tub? I am preping a Tii for vintage racing and want as rigid a platform as possible. I am aware of the issue of designed crumple zones, but am willing to give on that for greater rigidity.

Any thoughts? Suggestions? Ideas? Rants?

I don't know why but every body guy that was involved with my car didn't want anything to do with it. I would try to explane that all the rally cars are done like that, but that didn't seem to make any difference. I think the best way to get the best ridgity is with a well designed cage.

Check out the cages on the SkidMark page.

I seam welded a MGB race car that I have. It does make a big difference in the cars rigidity. No body guy wants to get invoved because it is a real pain in the butt. It took forever. I spent hours under the car with welding splatter all over me. My sweat shirt even caught on fire once. I have built roll cages that took alot less time.
