Venice is BEAUTIFUL, man. my tips for the visit are eat at the crows nest, visit caspersens if you want to avoid the crowd - and if you want to shop any go to the st armands circle. I hope you're staying at the inn at the beach resort. thats the nicest place on the island. I vacation there 2 weeks every year in june - love it. I think theres a few 02's in the sarasota area - but they're far and few between. Take the 2 hour drive to meet up with curtis in orlando. Also, show us some pics of all the sharks teeth you find. I'm a pretty big collector.

we have a place there...but we stayat the Banyan House B&B on Harbor Drive...like it even better than the Inn at the Beach (you should try sometime)

Been visiting Venice since 1986--have several quart jars of petrified sharks teeth including a great white tooth that's nearly 3" long--that's my prize one--found it in the surf too.

Won't have time to drive to Orlando, unfortunately...

I did much site engineering down there when I lived there...like the Oaks development in Osprey (between Sarasota & Venice)...residential lots went for $100k to $500k back in '81!!! Also did the Palmer Ranch (5,000 Ac site) near the Mall in Sarasota.

You must be a rich cat huh? :-) I was just a poor engineer that designed expensive developments!

The traffic must be really heavy down there these days. I also know the Venice area pretty well....did alot of work there...had fun meeting alot of circus folks. Gunther Gabel Williams used to live in Venice (of Ringling Bros. Circus)...had painted tigers on his garage door! :-)
