Those wheels are early stock steelies with the stock hub caps, the wheels have been repainted, looks grey, a bit too light. They were silver from the factory.

The engine has 6 cylinders too - apparantly.

raffled off in 2002...it was a Sahara non-sunroof '02 with pretty low mileage (49-50k) and really nice. They sold 2002 tickets at $20.02 each. A gal in CA won it I think, and sold it not too long afterwwards. It was a beautiful car--all original except for a very nice repaint. And yes, it does have 5" rims in the pix.

NY1 know if it's the same car?

It does look like the car in the 2002 raffle. I was trying to talk myself into buying that car before the committee found it. I snoozed, I lost.

Regarding the color: my first 2002 was a "late" 71 Sahara with the longer bumpers and black lower side trim I bought in 1978. In 1978 the color was considered VERY chique, very up-scale. I was rooming with 4 other bachelors at the time; everyone wanted to borry my car for dates. To my eye, it's still a good color, just not as exciting as inka.

Tastes do change, eh?

328 repro) sold yesterday for about $40k - essentially a glass 328 replica on '02 running gear. Not quite sure how they came by 2.5 liters for the engine size, but...... Link below

the Sahara is definately the "stealth" colored car to drive on public roads. The Inka can be seen from a mile away. Both can be heard from afar, though. Sometimes I prefer the Sahara just for its "boring" color. I think the auction site screwed-up the engine cyl. number... it has to be an M10. If not, then the modified market just got a big shot in the arm. All bets are off. I think they meant 4 cyl. Bad ID on the vehicle. But, $17.2K for a bone stock, no SR Sahara,....... it can only help the value of all the rest- modified or stock. BMWs are still poorly represented at the Barret-Jackson auctions( Scottsdale and PB). Too bad. They had a Tisa too.

1971 Sahara, 1972 Inka tii with Alpina A4 Injection. Both cars have too many upgrades for the "signature" square. 1987 M325ic daily driver( all E30M3 except chassis).
