What are some the ways you guys like to clean your engines? My car is clean on the out now i need it to match on the inside. What are some the goodies out there that i can use??

I did my engines with por-15 marine clean .. you spray that stuff on and let it sit and then hit the thing with a pressure washer

what did u protect the wires with and how?

eletrical bits with platic wrap. Spray on the simple green, let it soak little while, then spray off with garden hose - not too much presure.

and for that tough, baked on crud that the above won't handle...try oven cleaner on a warm engine block....but keep it off of any aluminum, it's caustic and can cause it to pit

on tv. Then there's also the steam shark.. Hmmm.. I love all those gadgets on tv.. remember "GS27" it was the miracle scratch remover. Yeah I always ened up gettin my money back. Thanks for the input guys and gal, I'll try it the old fashioned way with plastic and water.

disgusting mercedes diesel!! spray a full can of the stuff all over the greasy bits, wait ten minutes, hose off. hose off out at the street as the stuff kinda stinks!

I hit a greasy engine with aircraft solvent through a special nozzle that mixes compressed air with the solvent. Doesn't hurt paint or engine metal and the oil and grime just falls off, be careful not to hit anything that you want to keep grease on though. Best if its just used on just the engine block and oil sump.

Works great! Just a few minutes and your engine is squeaky clean.
