I've shined up this tii intake so it looks pretty nice on the outside, but its rough and such on the inside.

I"m about ready to put it all back together and I thought .. maybe I should get the inside polished..

So I find out this old guy in a town near by builds cobra replicas and he's got some fancy machine that will do that .. and he's into fishing (I own a good stretch of the best steelhead fishing in southern Oregon), so anyway, he can do a polish job on the inside.

I'm pretty clueless, so i'm just curious if

1) does it makes that much difference

2) will it throw off the fuel/air ratio so much it would require the KF pump to be tweaked

3) um.. do I want this guy wandering around on my place :)

thoughts?

cheers

Get him to port it to within one inch of the intake inlets on the cyl head too. I think you can stay within 1 inch and remain scca spec, but a port and polish will help airflow and generate more horsepower.

1) does it makes that much difference = NO, surface texture

will not gain major horse power

2) will it throw off the fuel/air ratio so much it would require the KF pump to be tweaked = NO

3) um.. do I want this guy wandering around on my place :) = NO

It's more important to match the gasket holes, and intake manifold holes to the intake ports on the head. Same goes for the exhaust manifold and it's gasket and exhaust ports on the head.

Ya. The more I read about it that seems to be the most important part

Screw it. A bunch of parts i've been waiting for showed up yesterday, so I can't wait another few weeks -- i'm gonna start putting everything back together.

This is kind of my learner tii engine -- hoping to make all my mistakes with this one before I rebuild my 74tii, so maybe I'll have that guy work on the *real* tii engine when its time.

thanks for the advice you guys
