insufficient clearance between the inner lip of the wheel opening on the fender and the outer edge of the tire, causing rubbing and/or cutting the tire.

"Rolling" the fender involves bending the lip upwards so that it's no longer at right angles to the fender's surface--especially in the arc between about 10 and 2 o'clock. If you do it carefully on a warm day with a baseball bat forced between fender and tire, it can be done without cracking the paint.

If you're running REALLY wide wheels/tires, it's sometimes necessary to also do this in the back, but there the metal is two layers, so is more difficult to do nicely.

This procedure only helps if the interference between fender and tire is minimial; otherwise you'll need to consider flares for your fenders...

My tires rub a bit on driveways on the inner fender near the frame rail. Is it a possible option to roll/pound this towards the rail to ease the edge?
