Sold today for $17,280!!! A '73 Sahara non-tii if I remember correctly. Maybe somebody still has the link to all the photos. It did look good, but wholly cow, that's a high price compared to what I've seen others pulling in.

If nothing else, all us '02 owners might be able to use this sale as a benchmark value when dealing with Insurance companies.

Look at the car's description at the B-J link . . . this car has that very rare engine, the 1990 cc SIX CYLINDER!! Guess that's why it sold for so much!! LOL You'd think an outfit like Barrett-Jackson would get that little detail correct.[/b]

The older I get the better I was!

Sahara '73 that the Iowa CCA chapter raffled off in 2002--that was a beautiful Sahara 73 with something like 50k original miles on it--raffle tickets were $20.02 each and they sold 2002 tickets...it was won by a gal from California but I think she sold it...

Anyone know for sure?

Anyone notice it's a six according to the description? And it seems to have lost 2 hp?

cheers

It 's scary to see a non-tii offered for that much. I wonder what a tii would sell for..

If you look at all the BMWs, you can see there was another '02 (listed as 1600/2 tii ?? what is that???) that did not sell at $8250.

Wow, looks like they got in a bidding war for that '02. Completely unrealistic value, but I can see where it might help some for insurance reasons.

Justin, I am not sure about the car itself, but be careful how you read the sale results. That car was at the Scottsdale auction in 1997. So far only only 1 BMW this year.

All the results list the year of the acution and location:

BJ = Barrett Jackson - Scottsdale

PB = Pebble Beach

For example:

329 1972 BMW 1600/2 Tii COUPE HIGH BID 8,250 1997-BJCCA

73 - '02

88 - M3

11  - E90

no - it's a function of LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION,

AND THE BAIT ON THE END OF THE HOOK,

AND A WILLING FISH THAT TAKES THE HOOK AND DOESN'T LET GO.

That car was reasonable at half that selling price - stupid foolish at what

it did sell for.

a 1500 SQ FT house in lower Fairfield Co. Connecticut

sells for$800,000 to $1,200,000

Same house in outer Wake Forest, NC. sells for $240,000 to $285,000 .
