brakes getting softer and softer

about a week ago my brakes started to get softer and now if i push hard enough they touch the floor, also if i press them then back off about a centimeter then push them agian and keep doing that they will go to the ground with no resistance. what is wrong with my brakes.

i push it and it goes down an inch or two then there is like a half inch space where there is no resistance then it goes back to being firm

I don't know if the MC is the problem, but MC is short for Master Cylinder.

Sounds like ou might have air in the lines on the circut for the rear brakes
