I have a 323 drivetrain, to get the transmision to do the m20 swap i had to buy both the transmision and the engine. i was going to buy the newer 325i m20 but since i already have the e21 m20 that seems to be in pretty good condition i was thinking about using that one.

Is the swap going to be more difficult. I have dan williams mounts so mounting it isn't a problem. but what about the electrical and the fuel delivery.

If i use the $500 hundred i would have used to buy the newer engine to make the e21 engine more powerful can i even get close to the newer engine.

If i temporarily use the older engine and then want to change it again to the newer engine is it like starting over.

That's awesome that you are heading down the M20 road. I believe that Dan G is doing the e21 323 set up. He's got photos on the Projects Thread.

I went with the e30 M20 in my 02. My understanding is the the 323 has different fuel injection system, K-tronic? Supposedly the Motronic units in the e30s are superior. I'm clearly not an expert on this but hope it helps. You could ditch the injections altogether and go with triple webbers.

What I can tell you is... my car is a freakin rocket now. Wholly molly does it pull. The motor is stock, so can't imagine a chip, exhaust or a turbo set up.

Good luck.
