Found out that a Mbz door check or stop would fit an E9, so I tried the same door check on my '02. Part # 1267200016 from autohausaz at less than $15, free shipping if you order $50+. Give it a try and post what you think. It may allow the door to open too far, but my trim is already crushed, I may put a rivet on the door check to limit the travel if I get a new trim.
