Just an fyi- I just went out to look at this car b/c it sounded so promising. The guy was really nice, but the car is no where near described.

After 550 miles and 8 hours of driving, here is what I saw when I got there.

1. Rust under the gas tank.

2. Rust holes in the spare tire well.

3. Rust on the firewall

4. Low compression feeling- almost no power

5. lots of blow-by

6. In need of a full repaint

7. Most of the entire passenger side had been keyed and fixed with metallic touch up paint.

8. very dirty interior/headliner

Not trying to be a bad guy, just saving another fellow member from the car that was so solidly described.

like a typical midwest car...unless they've been very carefully taken care of, and/or came from California or another warm, dry climate...

cheers and sorry 'bout that

How do you have rust under the gas tank? You mean the tank is rusty? I was eyeballing that one myself. Guess I might not waste my time.

It was surface rust on the outside of the tank. He won't take less than $5000.00, I'd say it's a $3000.00 project start at best.

I think your in line with the price. He may change his mind after a few months go by.

or you need to convince him of that to get any car at your price...be patient, you'll find one. It's not like you're trying to locate the one missing Bugatti Royale...

Aaron,

Take your time, you're most likely to find a nice, solid 2002 from someone on the board here than on ebay. There are some good ebay finds but I think you'll have better luck here.
