I think.

I ran over the car again with the multi meter( got lost moving house), and get the same reading at the battery(in the boot) as at the starter solenoid.

I pulled the starter again and figured out how to test it properly, and it spins up just fine. So, I'm thinking it has to do with the plug that goes onto terminal 50 and earths the solenoid back to the body through the wiring harness. Does this sound right?

Anyway, thanks again for all your help, and if i can't fix it I'll try and tow her outwith my brothers landrover.

After a few years of lurking I'd thought I'd post a pic. Originally an auto, now running a 5 speed, twin dellorto's, lowered bilsteins and poly bushes. Engine rebuild this year and probably a n LSD diff. 15" BBS wheels to go on as well, but i might have to roll the gaurds.

Hey Mr.Skippy,

Just wondering where in Oz you were planning on getting your LSD from? - or were you going to import it?

Also, would love to see some pics of your BBS wheels :-)

I assume by your pic that your up in sunny Queensland?

Good luck with the electrical gremlins!

Cheers mate,

Tom

Tom,

I'm up in sunny Brisbane, where annual roadworthiness isn't an issue!

The wheels I have are the same as you have pictured on your Cardomain page but are et25 . The centre's have been given Supercheap spray can gold centres, and the lips have been polished a little. I picked them up in Sydney last year with tyres and I'm yet to mount them. They were that e30 light metallic green, over metallic red, over silver. The plan is to use them till the tyres are gone, have them sand blastered and then powder coated in the JPS gold with a polished lip.

As for the diff, its towards the bottom of the parts list, so I'll deal with that later!
