I see the two obvious front and rear ones, but somebody told me there is also a third one, I think perhaps somewhere on the underside of the roof itself? I can't see one, but I don't have the sunroof out at this point. Assuming there is a 3rd one in there, is it wise to replace? Lastly, any known articles on this process?

Search the FAQ for tips on replacing the seals.

Some people say to remove the sunroof to install new seals, but I have been able to do my cars with the sunroof still installed.

After both seals are removed and everything is cleaned up, crank the sunroof as far forward as possible. With the front seal still out, you will get a touch more room for installing the rear seal. Once the rear seal is installed, crank the sunroof back so that the panel pts pressure on the seal as the adhesive dries. Then open up the sunroof and install the front(long) seal. Close up the sunroof on the front seal to allow the adhesive to dry.

I've used the 3m weatherstrip adhesive with good results, just have towels and maybe some isopropyl alcohol to clan up any excess. Wurth also makes a very good adhesive for this.
