Is the distributor wired from the coil after the ballast resistor to drop the voltage ?

Working on a car that has been gutted and sat for years. Is their an online wiring schematic anyone knows of ?

The distributor is wired from the "-" side of the coil. The ballast resistor is in series between the +12V power source and the "+" side of the coil.

Dunno if anyone has a wiring diagram posted; however, if you post the year of the car and the wire colors about which you have questions, someone will likely help you out.

Presuming you need one... what kind of coil do you have?

Also, there is nothing unique about the BMW resistor. Many cars use a ballast resistor, and I would bet that you can get a compatible (correct resistance) resistor for ~$10 at your local auto parts store.
