Dare I suggest this? Has anyone ever installed a cup holder? Any recommendations. I'm tired of spilling or wearing most of my morning coffee during the morning commute. I am open to all suggestions or links. Thanks.

What a cup holder really is, is a centralized space for spilling things!!! The driving of a 2002 is not condusive to drinking, anything, however, for those times when you're sitting in traffic, enjoying a cup of coffee, it's nice to have one.

Me, I purchased one of the more pricey types that fold up into a "box" sort of thing. Mounted on the pass side of the center console, about mid way up. Admittedly it's not that sexy, but it was what I wanted to do for convenience... The carpet just below it is trashed with coffee stains!

You can just see it on the pass side of this photo.

I've also discovered that the space between the hand-brake and the seat is about right to hold a can in a foam cooler. And have toyed with the idea of taking some stiff foam, like what you use in a nice camera or gun case, and cutting it fit in the same area with a beverage can sized hole in it.

I have one that clips onto the floor mat. $12.00 each.

Also try your local bicycle shop for a water bottle cage. Many different designs and materials including carbon fiber. You might be able to drill a couple of holes into the tranny hump and install some nutserts(or whatever they are called) and then bolt the thing in.

Look up 'folding cup holder' on Ebay. I purchased one a few months back for $10 and it has served me well. A big plus is that it attaches to the passenger side of the center console using a pre-existing hole.

Be sure to get one with adjustable arms, which allows a variety of different sized cups and cans to fit snugly.

Here's a link to the one I bought on Ebay. No affiliation, etc.

over the ridge on the side of a '74-76 console.

There's a different part # for each - maybe stop by your dealer to check the fit: 82 11 1 468 721 or 722

The one in the back of the Roundel has a long pin that attaches to the carpet, and looks like something from a bike shop - but works well.

Always worked for me. I can't count how many slurpee cups have been wedged in there.

Or you could take that handy roll of duct tape in your trunk, and tape the roll to the dash. Then stick your cup in the center of the roll! haha, just joking.
