My car has been sitting under my house for a couple of weeks and it won't start. I had to roll start it last time I had it out and now I've got nothing. I've recharged the battery, it turns over then just makes a clicking noise and doesn't want to fire.

Everything else works, electric fuel pump, radio etc.

Unfortunately I can't roll start the car again, any ideas?

Check all the obvious things, battery is connected, checked all the leads are on... Turn your radio off, turn your lights off and fan... I had the same thing happen to me, I disconnected the battery and charged it up with the terminal caps off... then put it in my car and away it went.

Can you tow it out into the street with another car?

If the solenoid on the starter is on the way out, it will sometimes crank othertimes just click. You can some times get it to kick by giving the starter baby seals disease (club it to death). Just give the starter a good whack with a piece of wood or hammer (if you can get to it), and it may kick. If you have checked that all contacts are good and battery charged, I'd suspect the solenoid. Could be a good time for the E30 M3 starter, less weight more cranking power, less battery drain. If so, it might be that. Ours buggered up and it was telling the pump not to pump...hence no starty. We just disconnected it...started right up!

situation.

Turn on headlights so you can see 'em, then hit the starter. If lights dim to nearly nothing, then the problem is most likely the battery and/or connections. If the lights stay bright and the starter just clicks, then suspect the starter itself. After you do this, touch the two battery terminals. If either is hot to the touch, you have a bad connection there...

good luck

Thanks guys.

I'm beginning to think its a connection somewhere. I've given it seals disease, checked that i have fresh Possum premium, not Roo Gas, and charged the batterya little and re-read the factory manual.

I'll give it another go this afternoon and see how I go!
