This is an unusual question, but have any tii owners had issues with the lower part of the linkage - coming right off the gas pedal - slightly interfering with the clutch slave cylinder? I had an issue this weekend with my idle staying up around 1200 or so, and also had some noise coming off what I think was the general clutch area. I lubed a good bit of the linkage, and noticed that occasionally the rubber boot around the slave sometimes would rub against the lower linkage. It's gone now, but I wonder if that might be the culprit, and perhaps I could slightly "bend" the part that holds the threaded rod that travels up the firewall, if you know what I mean? Anyone else encounter this? Thanks.

Check your motor mounts as well!

I had that issue when I was at my first drivers school on the skid pad. Going round and round, the instructor told me to "lift off the throttle." I did , but the engine stayed right at the RPM it was at. The instructor then yelled, "LIFT!" With that, I lifted my foot with my knee in the air past the steering wheel and yelled back, "I AM!"

Give the linkage arm a little bend and also check your motor and transmission mounts. Worn mounts will let the engine move around a bit and could cause this.

linkage from the throttle body catching on the plastic fuel lines just below the return spring. Had to tie-wrap the fuel tubes out of the way. Would happen infrequently and was hard to locate.
