new paint and rocker panel texture

Hi. Since it seems quite a few people on the FAQ have had their cars painted recently I thought I would ask just what exactly gets the textured paint that's on the lower rockers below the trim moulding

1)below the holes for the rockerpanel mouldings

2)the rear 1/4 panels trunk part below the bumper (and all the way around?)

3)the rear shocktowers, and back of the trunk (I figure they might as well paint the entire trunk with it.)

4) inside the wheel wells (and paint body color)

I was planning on cheking the parts car but it already had a cheap respray. Do I have it about right? The entire underside of the car will be paintied with black undercoating.

one of the common names for it like xerox is to copiers is Gravel-guard...it's a textured product that's sprayed on before the finish paint...call and talk to anyone that sells automotive paints in your area

3M Rocker Panel Spray part no. 051131-05910 for tan paintable chip guard textured coating. I may come in other colors. Tan worked great under golf topcoat.

I'll pass it along. I didn't even think about it, but sounds better than black before Golf. Anyway the guy at the body shop said he'd have to order some more.

rocker panel paint; squarelights had black rockers below the stainless trim. However, many roundie owners have painted their rockers black, as it tends to visually lower the car--esp when it's a light color.
