Help me with my guibo.

I'm trying to replace my guibo and I know that the bolts have to face 3 in one direction and 3 in the other. I cant get the bolts in that face the back of the car because the little propeller thing is too close to the tranny. Is there a trick to doing this? Please help.

I had a temporary fix with all 6 bolts facing the same way but they kept getting loose and then snapping off.

3 bolts one way, three the other way.

The bolts that face forwards(head towards the back of the car, threads towards the front of the car) go through the guibo, and then the transmission output flange, and then a nut on the end.

The bolts that face backwards go through the guibo, then through the driveshaft flange, and then capped with a nut.

Each bolt only goes through one flange, either driveshaft or trans, but not both. The heads of all the bolts should rest on the guibo. The nuts should all be resting on the flange surfaces.

Install the guibo to the driveshaft end first, then bolt it up to the trans.

If it is a new guibo, do not remove the metal band around it untill you have all the nuts and bolts tightened. If you already removed the strap, it will take some muscle to line things up. You could always get a large hoseclamp to cinch things down again.

The best tool to have is one of those chain vise-grip pliers. With the car in neutral, wrap the chain around the driveshaft and rotate it around so you have access to the bolts you are trying to tighten.

hmmm, i think you have to loosely sit all the bolts in their particular holes before putting the Guibo into place. Then, push the shaft of the bolts thru their proper flanges, and put the nuts on them to hold them in place.
