anyone know where to get them?

I had my bumpers worked a bit and I need a bigger square portion of the bolt, say like 10mm instead fo 8.

The shell is almost ready for some fresh GOLF paint but I noticed a few holes for the trim missing. Like the 3 for the rocker panel molding that are in the patched lower part of the 1/4 panel. And the lower belt trim which I plan to keep. I am starting to get excited again this car will look sweet bright yellow and black.

If they use a little bit of filler at my body shop should I be at all worried? I am pretty happy with the results so far.

I thought i saw somthing wrong with the top of the firewall panel, but I'm not that picky so I don't really care. The snorkel part came like that from MT (with the big gap).

one other thing i thought of is that we need to weld some of those bendy taps on the new nose for the wires. At least one near the driver's side. It souldn't matter that much where they go, but if anyone has any pics I would appreciate it.

Also any other little tips before paint would be appreciated. I showed them where to drill the hole in the rear tire well for the new sunroof drain today.

im in the same boat as you but im thinking about removing all those bendy straps. theres no good way to prep them and theres a lot of good fasteners avail. to secure the wiring harness. if youre a purist this isnt the way to go but my car will not be stock so i dont care. i just want it as clean looking as possible. i will be hiding as much of my harness as possible

I was just trying to shun standard nuts for not having the correct tools. but then I guess I can find something that will work on a 3/8's nut. As long as I know those aren't metric; I do have a few standard sockets.

What are the other good hole based fasteners to use for the wireing? All I can think of are zip ties. With some good cable wrap stuff and some zip ties , black on yellow is going to look sharp!

One is spring steel about 15mm wide. You should see some holding the main harness to the left inner fender. They come in different sizes for smaller harnesses. The other type is a black plastic tie. Both ends of this type are held by the hole. You may see these holding wires to your radiator support. Does anyone know if these plastic type are still available? I still have a few new ones for the purists if they're not. Used is hard to find 'cuz they often break on removal.

E21's (320) and probably E12/E28 models with US bumpers have the aluminum bumper bar secured to the bumper shock with 8mm stainless carriage-style bolts.

The one real drawback to 'em is that the heads usually have raised identifying marks on them, but it's easy to chuck 'em in a 3/8 drill and sand the marks off and polish 'em while they're spinning - come out with a very nice polish.
