I have a 1973 2002 & need some help. Running rich & has miss. Cold start is not bad but after warm up will not idle. just had the carb rebuilt & feel its running too rich but before I go back to the rebuider, wanted to make sure I'm not doing something wrong. This car is all stock & has no mods. Any tips on CARB adjustments?

Thanks.

I would take it back to the rebuilder, but approch him in a "I think I've done it right, can you check it for me" sort of way. He will probably do it for free, and you can watch and ask questions and learn at the same time. TMHO Beaner7102

how did it run BEFORE you took it to the 'rebuilder' ?

next step !

compression test

valve adjustment (COLD) 0.006"

ignition dwell & timing set with a timing light

point gap 0.015"(dwell 60degrees) and

ball mark in inspection hole at 1400 rpm, no vacuum to distributor while checking.

spark plug gap 0.025"

THEN re-visit the carb............and the 'rebuilder'
