help! I have just placed a 1974 tii motor into a 1973 '02. I am now trying to figure out the electrical. %*@#!,. if you know wut i mean. I am having a bit of difficulty with the "delay relay", Does anybody know where I can get a schematic or info on hooking up the "thermo time switch" and the "cold start valve"? Do I need to have the original "delay uelay" or is there another relay that can be used?

I'm doing a similar operation .. A 72TII engine into a 75.

I had planned on bypassing the thermotime biz and just hooking a button in the cockpit to run the cold start valve. Its a pain to find those parts and its fairly easy to just have a button you hold down while cold starting -- or you can hook it into the ignition switch.

A lot of tii guys end up doing this if that switch dies cos I guess they're not easy to find.

So unless you *really* want it right thats what I'd do

best of luck -- say what fuel delivery system did you end up going for? I've got some ideas and parts but haven't gotten that far yet.

actually like to be able to be the only one that knows how to start my cars, the button is somewhat hidden. It is kind of pulling a manual choke, old school but so very cool, it adds a mistique (another name for oddity).

I had thought my thermo timer was dead but really it was just a bad wire from the temp sensor.. so I made a cool toggle switch painted to match the interior etc and later on figured out I didn't need it.

I left it in the circuit so you have to hit the toggle when cold starting just cos it's cool.. a mystery toggle switch that only I know what it does ;) ;)

thank you all the info, i can really put it all to good use. It was getting very gloomy before reading all of the replies. I am truly inspired after reading all of your input i will keep up on my progress in the forum.........................John, 1973 02 w/ all tii inside and no tell tale outside.

cool.

ya the cold start injector just needs a pos and neg with a switch in between.. forget about the rest of that stuff.

So i'm doing a similar transplant & i'm wondering if you've figured out how to feed fuel to the KF pump? I'm debating several options.. have you got that in place yet?

cheers
