Oh No... It's Electrical

I have been working for a month to get everything working (1973 2002), and I had it fixed for about 1 day. Now the following have stopped working... horn, turn signals, and brake lights. Mysteriously, the four way flashers work, the running lights work, the headlights work. I have checked all the fuses and they are good. The horn seems to ground properly at the relay. There is no power at the brake light switch.

Is there any common circuit that would link the horn, the turn signals, and the brake lights ? Any ideas, or suggestions on where to look,or start looking would be appreciated.

Thanks

Yeah I went through this many many times recently trying to get my headlights to shine brighter.. Just re-check everything.. I got so frustrated one day then realised I had pulled a plug apart on the drivers side footwell and never pluged it back together. Lost my horn, all that stuff.. but then im the most disorganised home mechanic im almost a comedy to watch work.

I was having the same problem when the key was not completely returing to the drive position after starting.

Thanks for the advice. I checked all the wires under the fuse block, and they seem OK. It just dawned on me that all the functions that no longer work go through the ignition swtich. How common is it for the ignition swtiches to go bad

What do the turn signals, horn, brake lights, and wipers have in common ? They all go through fuse number 12 on my 1973. It turns out fuse 12 looked good, but it had a fracture at the cap.

I didn't have a table listing what is on what fuse, and I think that would have helped. I won't disclose how many hours I spent tracing this down.

Thanks for the advice. j
