As many of you know I work at LaValle's Import and Restorations and have seen a lot of our work with Andy's, Scott and others cars. Well they say competition brings out the best in companies, people and nations. Well this project is no different, thanks to Andy S letting me take his original Turbo to Vintage at the Vineyards (yes Scott will be hosting it again this year so look for updates), and I knew what I wanted.

The project car is a 1970 BMW 2002 with a blown engine. The car has a bad paint job and excellent interior. This particular car has been sitting for a very long time so there is just over 120k on the chassis. Thanks to Jake B. I found a 320i BAE Turbo car on eBay, best 200 bucks I have spent yet. While the engine donor car has a bad turbo all the other fun stuff is there. At the time of this writing the engine has yet to be fully checked out. The car also has a five speed, gauges, and ventilated brakes. Yet to be determined is the rear diff of the turbo car.

I look forward to sharing my adventure with my 2002 with you

That $200 BAE 320 turbo was a heckuva find! Hopefully it will have the LS diff also.

The 2002 looks very solid. Color looks like Manila to me. I once owned a Manila '68 2002.

BTW, I am looking for some early front bumper ends (without the rub strip). I see that there is no bumper on the car, but do you know of any available for sale?

Good luck with the project!

first of all, Sam is a parts pimp!! Just ask him and he'll tellyah ;) and sam that old drunk german guy at the mercedes shop told me about his 1970 turbo 02... done in 1971. they ended up blowing the motor up the motor, took the turbo off the car, brought it back to the dealership and got a new M10 for it.. ;) anyways, best of luck with it!! ;)
