Cool, I need all the space in my engine compartment I can get for my ITB airbox and I think power brakes are for wussies so here it is.

I hacked up the booster and welded the MC mounting flange to the booster bracket. Then I made a rod using the parts from the booster. Took me less than an hour using nothing but a sawzall and my MIG welder.

Flange welded to booster bracket:

Assembled:

Now I'm going to take it all apart and plate all the hardware and either Powdercoat or POR-15 the thing.

Should I come up with a rubber boot to protect the MC shaft or is already sealed well enough?

Awesome.....I have been thinking of the same thing for a while, and have been seriously considering with the s14 conversion. I'm following around the same lines as you are with space and weight. I know that spinning around the booster will make the motor fit....and it does...really tight, but removing it would free up some room. I'm interested on how the pedel presure will feel like. Input would be great....keep us updated. Thanks and cheers....

So am I! I didnt change the leverage at all but there is a very stiff spring inside the booster so it should be a little easier than stopping a car with a unboosted booster.

My car will also be much lighter than stock so that should make a difference as well.

If it is too stiff for me to deal with I'll try changing the mechanical advantage. I'll definately let the board know what happens, but my car probably wont start coming back together until summer...

There is a very stiff spring inside the booster that would definately affect pedal pressure.

Right now all I have is a tii brake booster in my car and yes there is a stiff spring in there. I'm not sure if it's stiff enough to fight that much under braking. But maybe it does. At one time I was thinking about going with duel Tilton cylinders with a balance bar.

It will be a little better without booster than only hose removed but the difference is not that big. I'm quite sure that you'll find the needed pedal effort is too much. I have tried it with Volvo calipers and 323i discs.

A guy in the UK did this (even easier with RHD and remote servos - just a matter of plumbling) and said it felt great but was very sensitive to pad choice.

hehe, Currently the car is spread out all over my garage, storage unit, bedroom, etc. I hope to have it painted this summer and start with reassembly.
