She knew if she got me the book I would be gone to any "meaningfull" conversation for months so she torpedoed my only request for a Christmas gift. I finaly bought "Tuning the A-Series Engine" by David Vizard. It arrived yesterday. Did you know that it takes between 1.4 and 1.8 cubic feet of air per minute to produce one horse power? Did you know that cutting a grove around the face of your intake valve face reduces reverse flow into your intake if you are running a cam and reduce cam lope?

This book is loaded with great bar pick-up lines just like these that you can roll out any time. A terrific book for the totally addicted motor head.

Having more fun than should be legal.

horsepower is an equation, so it would be a huge variable because of rpm, see at say, 1000rpm, you would need a lot of air to make one horsepower, where as at 5500 you would need a lot less.(BMW Enthusiasts Companion is also chock full of info :D) do you have an a series engined car? my dads very close to finishing his 10 yr resoration of a midget. those little engines weigh alot for their size!
