advice needed on bushings

Hi all,

I have some bad vibrations and noises which I have tracked down to being both tie rods, a bad draglink and a bad right ball joint.

I'm in Ojai right now, since I came here for the holidays and decided I better not drive back down the 101 till I have this problem solved(the bushings are all pretty bad) Problem is the local euro-fix place though good, has some prices that seem pretty high to me..he wants $58 for each tie rod $66 for the Drag link, and $35 for the ball joint.

Do these prices seem way to high?

My two big concerns here are Money, as I have very little..and the fact that I need to be in LA by friday to finish moving out of my old apartment.

Thanks, for any and all advice

haven't priced tie rods, but their ball joints were $27...of course if you're on a time crunch you don't have time to mail order...and BTW AA has free shipping for orders over $50--and they're reliable and good to deal with, IMHO.

how about labor ?

are you performing the work or

do you need someones labor - & don't

forget to add an alignment to that job.

From what you describe- the car should not be driven till the tie

rods and center link are replaced PLUS the other wooped

bushings and ball joints. LoSS of vehicle control isn't funny.

Rent a van, get moved, and save up for a proper suspension overhaul

before your a victum of your own diagnosis - or lack there of

Sorry to sound harsh

my diagnosis was only the outter tie rods,

I had it lifted by the shop, and together we checked it out, they told me which ones needed to be replaced and which ones were not so bad..outter tie rods were the worn the least.

I pretty much do all my own work, and plan on being very carefull to return everything to original positions, as I do not seem to have allignment issues.

I just replaced my rear differential(lifted with my very own, very sore arms), so I expect this will be a walk in the park. I just was hoping the prices weren't typical, but after doing some research and seeing people's opinions here, I decided to buck up and buy the parts from the repair guy(including outter tie rods, just so I don't get postponed a day due to stubborn steal).

Parts arrive tomorrow, and if I screw up and need help, You'll definately hear about it.

just overly assuming.
