Can 32 21 1 113 178 be substituted with a grade 8 or 10

bolt? It's the bolts that need to be safety wired. They hold the strut housing to the pitman arm or whatever it's called. (the thing that the ball joint bolts to)

I just paid $30 to have them overnighted because I need them by tomorrow. I would have thought a good high grade bolt with some locktite would be just as good.

then there is no way to know for certain that you are getting the grade you think you are getting. there are tons of knock off chinese made bolts that are labeled as grade 8, etc...that aren't as they say.

i recently did that same replacement and thought about getting regular high grade bolts...until i did some reading about the crappy chinese phonies.

i got a full set of the OEM bolts from the dealership for $35. in the end i figured it was better to be safe than sorry.

they are actually higher then 1grade 10. get them from the dealer or any supplier, safety wire and do not reuse them if you think that at any point in their life they have been stretched or compromised or i will have to bring out the scarry pictures again
