your car vs. the ladies

we all know that most the people in the FAQ are obsessed with their cars but just how obsessed are they. would you rather have a fine woman and settle for a camry or something crap like that (no offense to camry owners), or a super nice car of your choice and no ladies?

I have the fine, clean Colorado round-light 2002 that my dad bought new. I also have a brilliant, beautiful wife who bought me a shift knob for our 1-year anniversary (keep yer mind outa the gutter, boys!); who traveled with me through sweltering heat in Kansas in the non-a/c '02 to Colorado for O'Fest 2002; and who paid for the transmission as a gift when I did the 5-speed conversion last year.

Of course, I couldn't bring both her and the car to China. But I've got the most important one with me.

my lovely wife's daily driver from new until 1978, when she got the '73; she drove it until 1985. She's logged nearly 100k in 2002s...and we're still married! Celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary yesterday...

40 years! Nicely done Mike! My wife and I are working on our 24th year, and are planning a big trip to Europe when we hit 25. 1 great wife, 3 fantastic kids... I think you can guess which one I vote for!

I agree with Dave, Mike, & Dubois. I am very lucky to have both. We celebrated 15 yrs. in July. (BTW: congrats to Mike & Carol! ) Mary came 1st. We had little econo-cars for years before I had the $$ for a classic BMW, so she thought that my big interest in '02's was a "sleeper" sort of thing. She finds it strangely intriguing. My dad has been a good provider of parts and Christmas cash toward keeping my '02 on the road. He remembers his 72 Golf (not "monkey-vomit-green, Mike! ) 2002 & gets it.... Jim_75Sahara

I did the same I got the car after we got married 8/14/04 I recieved the car from parents as an added bonus for working on their cabin. And now have a second 88 325i with the engine out for my m20 swap. I am in good shape as long as she has a place to park out of the snow. The garage is mine but she rents it during the winter months.

Congradulations to you 40th anniversary it is very rare today to see that, perhaps more rare than a fine 02!!
