The engine lower front cover has to come out. Head and water pumps are out. What are my chances I can do this without removing the oil pan? Any special precautions/words of wisdoms/suggestions/recommendations would be appreciated.

You should be able to get the front cover off. But your gonna mess up the oil pan gasket. It would be in your best interest to get a new one. also get yourself some Honda Bond (Motorcycle shops have it).

hey Pierre,

I did the same to my 1600/2002ti a few months back, no more leaks.

Difficult not to mess up that pan gasket even if you try slipping a feeler gauge in there to seperate it from the cover prior to removal.

I "glued" mine back together during reassembly with the form-a-gasket stuff I was using. Hondabond or Yamabond or whatever should work ok.
