Your Tii cold start issue is probably one...or both...of two things...either the electronic cold start valve that sits on top of the throttle body (and its related electronics to make it work), or the mechanical cold start valve on the rear of the fuel injection pump. Both were a weak point with the tii. With the electronic valve on the throttle body, the relay that makes it work on the driver side fire wall usually fails. This can be replaced with a button in the cockpit to push for a few seconds upon startup mocking what the relay does. The new relay is still available from the dealer however it's expensive. The mecanical valve on the injection pump opens and closes depending on coolent temp to allow excess air into the intake, which allows for a faster idle when cold. Many times this valve will stick with age which will result in hard starting. You can take the valve off and try to clean it up to fix it but it usually needs replacment at a premium price.

Brandon,

Thanks for the reply. Like you mentioned, I've read on another forum that the warm up regulator can be rebuilt but I'm do you know if there is an adjustment to the regulator that needs to be performed or do you simply clean it up and bolt it back on??

Thanks again, Jeff
